I guess I should start this post off by saying I have absolutely no idea how those beauty bloggers make showing products look so easy. I know it seems pretty simple, but that picture you see? Oh, it took a good half hour to get because of focusing, background and lighting failures. No joke! The good news, though, is that I was able to get one photo worth showing, even if you can barely pick out what it is that I have in my hands. Wait, I think that defeats the purpose. I think it's about time I really learn how to use that camera of mine if I ever want to do this again so both mine and my camera man's (errr Todd's) patience doesn't wear out. And I can't even begin to imagine how those bloggers do those YouTube channels that I spend hours and hours (and hours) watching.
So, now that we got all of that out of the way, let's get back to the reason why I came here; to tell you about my love for two products. I love experimenting with new makeup whenever I can (aka when my budget allows it) and, to be honest, I'm not really sure why I don't share products with you guys more often because I've tested quite a few in my days. Maybe it has something to do with trying to photograph them! But, the two products you see below are ones that definitely needed to be shared today.
I consider the makeup products above, ones that aren't your "basics", to be "extras" and, in my experience, they can be a total miss because, most times, I don't really notice much of a difference at all with them, which can be pretty disappointing (especially considering the price tag). The Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray and the Benefit Pore Professional Agent Zero Shine are two "extras" that, not only work, but ones that I think do a pretty darn good job at that. In fact, I've added these "extras" into my daily makeup routine, which is pretty rare for me because I usually try to keep down on all of the work in the mornings. Girl loves her sleep too much!
Benefit POREfessional Agent Zero Shine: "An ultra lightweight powder that minimizes pores and reduces shine". For someone who has an oily t-zone but still likes to keep a "glowy" appearance overall and hates the caking of powders, this product is going to be your new best friend. It dissolves shine really well but it's still so lightweight and natural looking and, the best part, it creates almost an airbrushed finish. I don't have an all over oily face so I can't say how it would work for that, but it's the best thing I've ever used for t-zone coverage. So long, triangle on my forehead! While I've read some bad reviews around the packaging, I don't mind it at all and, in fact, I think the brush it comes with works well.
Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray: "A weightless spray that keeps makeup looking just-applied for up to 16 hours". While I don't think it lasts the 16 hours it says, it does allow me to now get through a 9 hour workday without it looking like my entire face has fallen off. It's so light and refreshing and you won't even notice that you're wearing it. Plus, there's no strong smell. I do not like missing one day without wearing this product and I know my love for it will continue to be strong over the hot, summer days....that's if we get any around here!
I can already say for certain that I'll be repurchasing these products when they run out!
Have you tried them before? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts...from one product junkie to another!

It took a half hour to take those pictures?! It was definitely worth it! The pictures turned out fab!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these products with us. I was just saying to myself today (I'm actually not even kidding) that I need a better shine dissolving powder. I'll look into the Benefit one. Can I get it at Shoppers? I try to avoid Sephora because then I want to buy EVERYTHING lol
Your photo turned out amazing! I love, love, love the UD sprays! And I haven't really heard of that powder, but the thing I think I love about it IS the packaging, I feel like I'd use it more as something to keep in my bag or for on the go since you wouldn't have to worry about keeping a separate brush with you.
ReplyDeleteLook at you trying 2 products I haven't even seen before (#howisthatpossible)?? haha...I'll definitely have to purchase those now!!!
ReplyDeleteHey now I think you did a lovely job with your picture!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your reviews, there is nothing worse than spending lots of money on a product that you end up hating!
You have such beautiful skin! Seriously, every pic on here you are glowing and even. Lucky!!
ReplyDeleteWhy are you so pretty? It's just not fair!!! I actually just ran out of my setting spray (I bought it for my wedding two years ago!) so you're writing this at the perfect time for me!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI know right? I can't imagine how beauty bloggers get anything done when they have to edit videos and pictures out the wazoo and it takes forever to get the perfect setting and lighting. Stresses me out just talking about it!
ReplyDeletePS. LOVE your new blog look!
I've been dying to try both of these! I think you just pushed me over the edge. :)
ReplyDeleteLoving your new blog design!
