In case you missed:
Well, this is the last of the vacation recap posts so I'm sorry to those of you who love them. Sorry, me!! It's been over a week since we've been back (that's it??) and, already, my memory is a little foggy on this last part of our trip. See, that's one of the main reasons why I love sharing it all here, because who knows what I would even remember in a few months time.
Our next stop in Orlando was Universal. I guess technically my title isn't one hundred percent accurate because Universal isn't really considered Disney World. But when you live over 2000 miles away (you better believe I just had to google that), you kind of lump them all together in your head.
Universal is made up of two parks, Universal Studios and Islands Of Adventure, and we tackled both of them on the same day. Up first was Universal Studios. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew we were going to loooove this place because there were so many exciting things to see around every corner. The streets, all based on the separate designs of three different cities (Hollywood, New York, and San Fransisco), was enough to grab your attention, let alone all of the crazy details and the movie/tv characters that you would see along the way. We were honestly in awe the entire time.
And the rides, oh the rides. I loved the 3-D ones, the ones where you feel like you're flying around in the middle of all the action, but yet you don't even leave your seat. So much fun! If I had to pick my all time favourite, the Transformers ride would probably win. Scared shitless the entire time...all while never moving.
Oh, and before we left Universal, I was sure to leave a lasting impression with all of the Shrek characters. It all had a little something to do with Fiona complimenting me on my ring and her telling me to show Donkey, and me showing Shrek instead. "You really think that's Donkey?" was said in the best Eddie Murphy voice and it sure gave everyone there lots and lots of laughs!
The second part of the day was spent at Islands of Adventure. Even though we never stopped for a second earlier that day, this park continued to keep us going with lots more fun. The water rides were my favourite and it may have had something to do with getting drenched on such a hot, hot day.
Truth!
And that concludes the recap. But picture lots of eating, lots of shopping, more road tripping, and then roaming the streets of downtown Tampa to get the full effect on how we spent the last couple days of our vacation. That reminds me, if you are ever in the Tampa area and looking for a great place to eat, check out Jackson's Bistro. It was one of our favourite restaurants during our whole trip and you can not beat the incredible view. It was the perfect way to spend our last night in Florida.
Now I'm off to look for a tube and a lazy river. I'm thinking maybe I should start looking for some sunshine and some warmer temperatures first though. I guess beggars really can't be choosers...
