How To (Quickly) Spend A Makeup Gift Card

Here in Newfoundland, we don't have popular makeup stores like Sephora or Mac that everyone else across Canada has become addicted to.  Besides your normal drug stores, we do have a Shoppers Drug Mart though, which has come along way in terms of selling great makeup brands.

I got a birthday card in the mail a few days ago from my sister, and because she knows me all too well, she gave me a $50 Shoppers gift card with a note saying to enjoy some make up on her. So, with no time to spare, that's exactly what I did.

This gift card came in great time because I was almost completely out of my bronzer and blush.

I decided to try a different bronzer this time, so I went with Smashbox's Fusion Soft Lights in Baked Starburst.  It has a little bit of a shimmer and it's supposed to go on light with no orangey tones.  I liked it a lot when I tried it in the store, so I'm hoping this won't change when I use it at home with my normal makeup routine.

It was a no-brainer when it came to what blush I wanted to buy.  Maybelline's Dream Bouncy in Pink Plum has been my all time favourite.  It's like a cream but applies like a powder and it blends so nice. And although the color looks super bright, don't let it fool you, it goes on much softer.

I decided to put a couple of dollars towards my gift card and buy a third item, a highlighting concealer. I've heard great things about Maybelline's Dreamlumi Touch so I got it in Nude.  I bought this more for the highlighter because I've never used one before.

Thanks sis for these new products, I can't wait to use them!

Have you used any of these products before?  I would love to hear more about them!
